MULTIPLES BIRTH

AWARENESS MONTH

Awareness Ribbon car magnets  (shown to the right) are available for $3.00

It's About Them - Multiple births in general are on the rise. With increased births, comes an increased concern regarding the health and well being of multiple birth children. (CDC)

It's About Us - The National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs, Inc. The Fetal Hope Foundations, and Twins Magazine - coming together for multiple birth families.

It's About You - Local support clubs, educators, medical professionals and media personnel across the country.

Join us in April 2009 for the first Multiple Birth Awareness month in the United States.

Help create an awareness that lasts a lifetime;  and, start a tradition for years to come.
NOMOTC

NOMOTC in conjunction with The Fetal Hope Foundation, and TWINSTM Magazine will be hosting a Multiples Family Festival in celebration of our first Multiple Birth Awareness Month.  We hope this is an event that continues to grow each year.  This year's event will feature games for the children, a multiples contest with several categories, and a professional photo shoot opportunity for those in attendance with the winning multiples being featured on the cover of a 2009 edition of TWINSTM Magazine.

To add to the fun planned for this week-end, The Fetal Hope Foundation is also sponsoring a charity basketball game with the Harlem Ambassadors vs Fetal Hope Slammers on Friday, April 18. Doors open at 6 p.m. at the Chatfield Senior High School in Littleton, Colorado.  Tickets range from $7 to $11 and can be purchased in advance. For more information visit www.fetalhope.org/charity-basketball-game.html.

Why Colorado?  Denver and the surrounding area are home to both the Fetal Hope Foundation and TWINS TM Magazine, so logistically this made Denver a great gathering spot for all three organizations to come together.  Additionally, this event is being planned on the last day of the Colorado Parents of Multiples Convention, "Sweets in the City", a convention planned specifically for parents of multiple birth children.  More information can be found at http://www.doubledelights.org/.

So, if you love Colorado in the Spring, or just want a fun family get-away - join us at the Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver, and help us celebrate the first annual Multiples Birth Awareness month!

Illinois Organization of Mothers Of Twins(IOMOTC)

First, We are going to write an article for our State magazine (SAGA) on MBA with some ideas on how local clubs in our state can participate and celebrate. We are also going to send this article out in advance to each local club's state rep and president in our monthly email newsletter beginning in Feb with additional information on what how other clubs are participating from around the country. And we will be building a box on our website (IOMOTC.org) that will highlight MBA and local clubs'  efforts throughout the next few months.

Second, we are going to tie our annual Spring Workshop (kind of a mini convention), "Staying Alive in 2009-We will Survive" and the MBA together. Spring Workshop will take place on April 18 and will include a Keynote Speaker, Lori Radun, CEC, AELC, who is a certified life coach who will speak on understanding and finding balance in our lives and four workshops/shareshops. These will include an Advice panel, Club Connections/Concerns Shareshop, Kid's Health Issues and Basic Self Defense. We will send Media announcements to local and major newspapers, cable outlets in IL advertising this day. And we are contacting the mayor of Alsip where our Convention and Spring Workshop will be held this year for a proclamation. We also plan to have trifold boards with MBA and IOMOTC information out in the public areas of the hotel where the event is held.
